Scratch

Program interactive stories, games, and animations — and share creations with others in the online community.

Think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

In addition to time, some important resources include:
  • computers with speakers (and, optionally, microphones and webcams): for the computer-based design activities
  • network connection: for connecting to the Scratch online communities
  • design notebooks (physical or digital): for documenting, sketching, and brainstorming ideas and plans
  • uses Flash – problem for some netbooks, using Puffin web browser on iPad

2013.06.16 – Brady and Bobbi worked together after a brief walkthru of the basic functions. Lots of enthusiasm. Some drawing, lots of sprite movement scripting. Need to ensure that girls get to “drive.” Kids talked about making a game and looked at several in the gallery. Then looked at scripts for some.
