Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day

March is Women’s History Month! This is a great month to take time to learn about and celebrate the incredible contributions women have made throughout history. Start by checking out the engineering Trailblazers on the EngineerGirl site to learn about women who paved the way for others in engineering, then take a look at these other great resources:

• The National Academy of Sciences has an online exhibition, Progress was Neither Swift Nor Easy: Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine, that features biographies of women who are pioneers in their fields.
• Science Buddies has an updated list of over 60 women in science and engineering.
• The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum have pooled resources and event listings for Women’s History Month at WomensHistoryMonth.gov.

Additionally, Wednesday, March 8th, is International Women’s Day! This year’s theme is “Embrace Equity” and you can learn more at InternationalWomensDay.com. You can also follow #IWD2023 and #EmbraceEquity on social media.
