Omni Wheel, also known as Poly Wheel – Omni wheel are unique because they are able to move in many directions. Small discs around the wheel will roll with full force, but will also slide laterally with great ease. It is a method of creating holonomic drive. Omni wheel can either roll like a normal wheel or roll sideways using the rollers. Its rubber rollers offer great gripping. It is suited for use in robotics, trolleys, transfer conveyor, shipping carts, luggage. Omni wheels can be used with two traditional wheels on a center axle and four Omni wheels on front and rear axles to build a six wheel vehicle.
Mecanum wheel – The Mecanum Wheel, is also called Ilon wheel. It is a conventional wheel with many rollers attached to its circumference, these rollers having an axis of rotation at 45° to the plate of the wheel in a plane parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel. Mecanum wheel is capable of moving in any direction using a standard chassis shape.
