We are looking for no-cost, no-impact on resources activities that are well connected to the learning outcome.
Maybe come up with some alternatives that can be done / recorded using their phones. Do kids have smartphones? I’d really like to do something with them.
How about… read / watch an intro, read an online article, do an online activity such as play a game or explore a site, answer an auto-grade quiz for instant feedback, an exit quiz that checks for understanding and requires response to prompts to see if they actually get what they are supposed to learn. This is independent and guided, “open entry” (start anytime), “open exit” (takes as long as you need up to a point) and they can work together.
Edmodo limitation that will be beneficial – auto-grade quiz response has to be deleted to be retaken. An opportunity to watch student progress!
